Pembroke Academy Early Learning Center has an outstanding team of dedicated administrators & staff, all of whom are determined to help students succeed. Our team members offer support and guidance, uniquely tailored to each student. Our goal is to provide an environment where teachers are valued for their outside-the-box thinking, creative ideas, and connection with their students.

Sonia Bain

Academic Director

Sonia Bain has seventeen years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She received her
undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University, with a B.S. in Social Work &
Sociology. Her career began at Little Saints Comprehensive Learning Centre, in
Nashville, Tennessee, where she taught various groups from Nursery – K5. She moved
home to Nassau, Bahamas and continued her service as Pre-school Coordinator, Vice
Principal and Guidance Counselor at private schools such as Genesis Academy and
Kingsway Academy.
She is looking forward to many years, starting a new chapter at
Pembroke Academy, providing first class child care services, building relationships
with parents and the community, supporting children’s overall needs, creating fun
learning experiences and giving children the best possible start with readiness skills to
meet all formal educational goals.

Simone Bain

Administrative Director

Simone Bain has eighteen years of educational experience. She has taught from infants to twelfth grade. Simone has executed her classroom and teaching skills at Little Saints Comprehensive Learning Center (Nashville, TN), Rowland Elementary (Stone Mountain, GA). Temple Christian High School, Genesis Academy, and Kingsway Academy (Nassau, Bahamas).
Simone is a graduate of Tennessee State University with a degree in Elementary Education.
She has encouraged students to meet their fullest
potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe,
encouraging and invites the sharing of ideas and thoughts. She believes that
each child needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to
grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually.

Danielle Bain

Nursery Director

Danielle Bain has twelve years of educational experience. She has cared for and taught infants to third graders both nationally and internationally. Danielle has exhibited her skills in caregiving and teaching at Workers Child Care Center, Genesis Academy (Nassau, Bahamas), College of DuPage Early Learning Center (Chicago, Illinois), and Kingsway Academy (Nassau,
Bahamas). She has also served as an Au Pair (live-in nanny) for a German
family of four for one year, which has further enhanced her skills in
caregiving.
Danielle is a graduate of the College of DuPage with a degree in Early
Childhood Education. Her love for children and their well-being began at a
very early age and has continued to emerge and 0ourish throughout the
years of her experience.

Mya Minnis

Technology, Marketing & Arts Director

Mya Minnis has five years of experience in education, teaching Music at Lyford Cay International School. During that time she also enjoyed integrating technology within the program, instrumental skill building and music & movement. Mya is a graduate of Florida International University with a B.A.Ed  in Music Education. She has also studied Spanish as a second language for three years in Miami, FL, serves as the Music Director for The Greater Bethel Cathedral and has experience as a Sport Coordinator for youth programs. 
Throughout her years of teaching, Mya has inspired many young
students to develop a passion and love for the arts. She looks forward to building an interactive, creative and innovative learning experience with your child.
